KHOU TV, a Belo owned station in Houston, TX, is seeking a Digital Media Editor/Designer. The selected candidate will oversee the quality of website content for KHOU.com with an emphasis on publishing breaking news and weather accurately and timely. The primary responsibility will be to set, maintain, and enforce high-quality journalistic standards for KHOU.com. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to, coordinating, copy editing, posting news content and supporting online ‘extra’ content such as photo galleries, forums, blogs, audio and video clips, wireless, consumer content, etc. on KHOU.com. Interested candidates should have a college degree or equivalent in communications, journalism or web writing preferred; at least 2 years experience writing/editing news content in an online, print or broadcast newsroom; a working knowledge of Dream Weaver or equivalent publishing tool; a working knowledge with Associate Press style required; the ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
